ABSTRACT:
A fireproofing composition comprising an aqueous solution of a fire-retardant water-soluble inorganic ammonium salt and a surface tension reducing amount of a surfactant selected from the group consisting of organic ester acids and ester salts of polyphosphoric acid wherein said ester acids are co-esters of an aliphatic alcohol and a nonionic adduct of ethylene oxide and a reactive-hydrogen-containing organic compound in which coesters less than all of the phosphate protons are consumed by the ester bonds.
