ABSTRACT:
Fireplace apparatus insertable into an existing fireplace, and compatible with an existing chimney structure includes a double wall on the sides and at the back of a firebox and two separate air systems are provided, one system for combustion air and a second system for heated air. The combustion air moves vertically through hollow grates on which fuel is disposed for burning, and vertically through the firebox and by heat exchanger tubes and into a chimney.
