ABSTRACT:
A nozzle for use with a fire hose is capable of varying a discharge pattern while maintaining the total water discharge amount at a fixed level. A first tube4is connected to a fire hose, a second tube5is screwed onto the first tube, and a throttle valve40is disposed on the inside of the second tube. A throttled portion10between the second tube and the throttle valve maintains the total water discharge amount at a fixed level. The position of the second tube5is varied by rotating a grip42, and thus the total water discharge amount setting is varied. A third tube13is screwed onto the second tube, and a fourth tube14is screwed onto the third tube. The position of the third tube13is varied by rotating a grip60, and thus the discharge pattern is varied. The position of the fourth tube14is varied by rotating a grip66, and thus the flow rate of a self-protection water spray is regulated. The throttled portion10maintains the total water discharge amount at a preset level even when the discharge pattern or the flow rate of the self-protection water spray is varied.
