ABSTRACT:
A new form of titanium dioxide has been developed in which the particles have a substantially rectangular cross-section with a width to length ratio of at least 0.8:1.0. A most desirable cubic form of anatase titanium dioxide is included. The products are formed by hydrolyzing a solution containing TiOCl.sub.2 species under autothermal pressure.
