ABSTRACT:
A filter candle100as subject of the present invention comprises: an elongated mesh pack200for filtering a fluid, comprising an end fitting206securely fixed to a filter medium205. Further, a hollow core tube300is provided having a fluid permeable wall310, the core tube being positioned within the axial opening of the mesh pack. The core tube300has an end flange340fixed to the outer end surface312, which end flange is suitable for engaging the end fitting206on the mesh pack. A ring-shaped seal500is provided between and making contact with the outer end surface of the core tube, the end fitting and the end flange. The seal is a porous ring-shaped structure comprising a multitude of pores, which pores have an average pore size being equal or less than the filter rating of the filter medium.
