ABSTRACT:
A fencing blade is described comprising a substantially planar elongate strip having at least a portion thereof shaped to be non-planar in cross-section. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a foil or sabre type blade is made from a planar, tapering, elongate steel billet pressed into a `U` or `V` shape along substantially two thirds of its length, the remaining one third of the blade being left flat. The blade may be formed of separate tang/shoulder and blade sections, which may be releaseably or permanently connected together.
