ABSTRACT:
Titanium and titanium alloy particles are provided with improved mechanical properties through the use of ion implantation. Ions of elements selected from the noble metals and titanium are employed. Ion energies of 50-200 kev and ion densities of at least 10.sup.14 ions/sq. cm. are employed.
