ABSTRACT:
In memory storage transmission, if image transmission has been interrupted because of an error, the cause of the error is determined. Error image data whose retransmission has a possibility of success is preserved in an image memory, and error image data whose retransmission has no possibility of success is erased from the image memory. If error image data is preserved in the image memory, and storage of new image data in the image memory is instructed, error image data preserved in the image memory is erased in accordance with the remaining amount of memory capacity of the image memory. It is thereby possible to preserve appropriate error image data in the image memory without reducing the efficiency of the memory.
