ABSTRACT:
A fabric softener concentrate consists of a quaternary ammonium salt containing at least one C.sub.8 to C.sub.30 long chain alkyl group, for example dimethyl distearyl ammonium chloride, and an oil or substantially water-insoluble compound having oily/fatty properties, for example a half refined white oil or an alkyl ester of a long chain fatty acid. The liquid concentrate can be dispersed/emulsified in cold water to form a fabric softener composition.
