ABSTRACT:
An eyepiece system includes a first meniscus lens of positive power having a convex surface located on the object side and a cemented lens element composing of a second and a third lens element of positive power. The eyepiece system satisfies the conditions: (1) 0.2<f.sub.e /f.sub.1 <0.65 and (2) 0.6<f.sub.e /f.sub.23 <1.0, wherein f.sub.1 represents the focal length of the first lens element, f.sub.e represents the focal length of the entire system, and f.sub.23 represents the resultant focal length of the second and third lens elements.
