ABSTRACT:
An exposure device for forming an image on a photosensitive member is disclosed, which is provided with a shutter unit disposed between the photosensitive member and a light source. The shutter unit includes a plurality of shutter elements adapted to open and close for selective transmission of the light from the light source therethrough. Further provided are driving means for reciprocally moving the shutter unit along the row of the shutter elements, and control means for controlling opening and closure of the shutter elements.
With the above constructed exposure device, the shutter elements are repeatedly opened or closed when moved to a different position along the row of shutter elements by means of driving means. An image of higher resolution is thus formed on the photosensitive member by means of the light passed through the light transmitting area corresponding to the shutter element kept open.
