ABSTRACT:
An image frame to be printed is subjected to three color separation and photometry by using three light receiving devices. In order to cancel a photometry error caused by the sensitivity crosstalk of each light receiving device, the measured light amount of each color is subjected to a matrix calculation. The corrected measured light amount by this matrix calculation is converted logarithmically into a measured density. In order to provide a linear relationship between the color correction filter setting position and the measured density, the measured density is converted in a virtual measured density in the linear area. The virtual measured density is corrected by a 3.times.3 matrix calculation to cancel a photometry error caused by unwanted absorption of color correction filters.
