ABSTRACT:
An expansion tank device14comprises a tank installation base16having a cooling liquid channel17and an expansion tank18provided on the upper surface of the installation base16. The base16has a communication hole19for holding space above the upper surface thereof in communication with the cooling liquid channel17. The expansion tank18has a tank main body21including an upwardly bulging portion22having an opening at its lower end, and a bottom plate23joined to the lower end of the tank main body21for closing the lower-end opening of the bulging portion22and joined to the upper surface of the tank installation base16. The bottom plate23is provided at a portion thereof corresponding to the communication hole19with a through hole25communicating with the communication hole19. The bottom plate23is provided with a baffle plate26formed along the entire circumference of the inner peripheral edge thereof defining the through hole25and slanting upwardly toward the center of the through hole25. The expansion tank device14removes the air in the cooling liquid from the circulating system, precludes the system from breaking and prevents the decrease in the amount of cooling liquid within the circulating system.
