ABSTRACT:
An expansion joint or dredging sleeve having a body built up from a rubber and fabric ply construction at least one section of the body being reinforced by a reinforcing structure comprising a ring of rubber having a Shore A hardness of not less than 70.degree. sandwiched between two rings of fabric comprising cords which have a compression deflection characteristic measured as described herein not exceeding 1% under a load of 40 kg. said cords extending substantially circumferentially of the rings.
