A particulate filter8is disposed in an exhaust passage7of an internal combustion engine1, and a reduction catalyst9is disposed downstream of the particulate filter8. A bypass passage12for bypassing the reduction catalyst9and a flow path switching valve13which switches a flow path for the exhaust gas which has passed through the particulate filter8between the exhaust passage7and the bypass passage12are disposed. A control unit301controls the flow path switching valve13in association with a temperature Texh of the exhaust gas which has passed through the particulate filter8.
