An evaporator includes a hermetically sealed vessel1A having an inlet17and an outlet16, a refrigerant supply portion14, in which liquid refrigerant is stored, a heat transfer portion12, to which the liquid refrigerant stored in the refrigerant supply portion14is supplied, heat transfer fins12A having a heat transfer surface provided in the heat transfer portion12, a wick13A provided on the heat transfer surface of the heat transfer fins12A to transfer the liquid refrigerant supplied to the heat transfer portion12towards the outlet16by means of capillarity, and a heat radiation fins15, which is provided on the outer surface of the refrigerant supply portion14to prevent the temperature of the refrigerant introduced into the refrigerant supply portion from rising.
