Disclosed are novel ethyl 3-(3-indolyl)-3-(5-tetrazolyl) propionate compounds characterized by the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is H or methoxy and Y is H, Cl or methoxy. These compounds are useful as antihypertensive agents.
