ABSTRACT:
Compounds of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are various substituents and X is a bridge having a chain of 3 atoms, including N, are made by internal Diels-Alder reaction of alkynyl-substituted anthracenes. The compounds are useful as inhibitors of free radical vinyl polymerization.
