ABSTRACT:
A one piece electrode for use in miniature and subminiature lamps having a large diameter post section and a smaller diameter lead-in section. The lead-in section is formed by an electrochemical process from a wire that has an outer diameter equal to the desired post diameter. A smooth evenly tapered transition section between the post and lead-in sections is created during the etching process which permits heat to pass through the electrode at a controlled and predictable rate.
