ABSTRACT:
A method and apparatus for determining the permeability of small rock samples by mercury capillary pressure measurements. The apparatus comprises a measuring cell having a very small volume and means for measuring the displacement of mercury in a sample placed in the cell to at least one ten thousandth of the cell volume. The method comprises plotting the capillary pressure versus saturation as a percentage of bulk volume and using a nomogram to determine permeability of the sample.
