ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to novel genes fromE. faecalisand the polypeptides they encode. Also provided as are vectors, host cells, antibodies and methods for producing the same. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists ofE. faecalispolypeptide activity. The invention additionally relates to diagnostic methods for detectingEnterococcusnucleic acids, polypeptides and antibodies in a biological sample. The present invention further relates to novel vaccines for the prevention or attenuation of infection by Enterococcus.
