ABSTRACT:
A recovery method, for an ink jet recording apparatus having a recording head for recording by discharging the ink with bubbles formed by thermal energy applied to a heat acting area and an energy supplying device for providing the thermal energy, includes a compulsory recovery mode in which more than 10.sup.3 predischarges are performed by supplying energy exceeding 1.48 times the minimum energy Eo necessary for producing the bubbles.
