ABSTRACT:
In a cooling unit for an engine comprising a cylinder block1having a water jacket4which opens into the surface of the cylinder block1and which circulates a cooling water in surrounding relationship with a cylinder bore, and a gasket11held sandwiched between the cylinder head and the cylinder block1to seal therebetween, the gasket11is provided with a control board21which project into the water jacket4for controlling a flow of the cooling water, the control board21being formed to be arcuate in conformity to the profile of the water jacket4and disposed toward the intake port.
