ABSTRACT:
An end coupling1, 19for a shaft2of a rock bolt50comprises a body6having a lead portion8with a leading end9, and a tail portion10with a trailing end11. The tail portion10is arranged to be connected to a drive to impart rotation to the coupling about its axis. The body6defines a passage7extending between the leading and trailing ends and a first portion12of the passage7extends from the leading end9and has a first diameter. A second portion15of the passage7is disposed adjacent the first portion12and has a second diameter that is larger than said first diameter. A first thread14extends along at least part of the first portion12of the passage7and is arranged to engage an external thread4on the rock bolt shaft2. A rock bolt assembly incorporating the end coupling1, 19is also disclosed.
