ABSTRACT:
An electrophotographic toner containing a compound of the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein each of X and Y which are independent of each other, is a hydrogen atom, ##STR2## (wherein each of D.sub.1 and D.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom or an electron donating group, provided that D.sub.1 and D.sub.2 are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms, R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, an acyl group, a nitro group, a cyano group or R.sub.2 SO.sub.2 -- (wherein R.sub.2 is a hydroxyl group, an amino group, an alkyl-substituted amino group, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or an alkoxy group), and n is 0, 1 or 2, provided that when n is 2, the plurality of R.sub.1 may be the same or different), ##STR3## (wherein D.sub.3 is an electron donating group, and R.sub.1 and n are as defined above), ##STR4## (wherein D.sub.3, R.sub.1 and n are as defined above), ##STR5## (wherein D.sub.3, R.sub.1 and n are as defined above) or ##STR6## wherein D.sub.3 is as defined above, and each of R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, an acyl group, a nitro group or a cyano group), provided that X and Y are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms, and Z is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group.
