ABSTRACT:
An electrophotographic printing plate precursor having satisfactory mechanical strength and water-resistance and suitable to the direct electrical supply system, and a method for development thereof are disclosed.
The electrophotographic printing plate precursor comprises an electrically conductive support having thereon a photoconductive layer and a back layer, the back layer being provided on the surface of the support opposite to the photoconductive layer, wherein the back layer comprises at least an outermost layer having a surface resistivity of from 1.times.10.sup.10 to 1.times.10.sup.14 .OMEGA. and an inner layer having a surface resistivity of less than 1.times.10.sup.10 .OMEGA..
