ABSTRACT:
A electrophotographic recording apparatus which delays the removal of a potential provided on the developer while the charges on the photosensitive surface are exposed to the developer. The apparatus includes a bias generator controlling which controls the bias generator to apply a potential to the developer continuously for a predetermined period of time which includes the time while the charges on the photosensitive surface are exposed to the developer. The controller further controls the bias generator to apply the potential to the developer during a period immediately before a shut-down of power to the apparatus thereby to prevent carrier particles from adhering to the photoconductor surface until the electric charge on the photoconductor has either dissipated or passed beyond a position adjacent to the developer.
