The material comprises a conductive support and, provided thereon, an undercoat layer, a carrier generating layer and a carrier transport layer in this order, wherein said undercoat layer contains an N-alkoxylated polyamide copolymer or N-alkylated polyamide copolymer a unit represented by the following Formula 1:
