ABSTRACT:
An electrophotographic photoconductor is composed of an electroconductive support, and a photoconductive layer formed on the electroconductive support, which contains a charge generating material and a charge transporting material consisting of an .alpha.-cyanostilbene compound of formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represent a phenyl group, a polycyclic aromatic group selected from the group consisting of a naphthyl group, an anthracenyl group, a phenanthrenyl group, and a pyrenyl group, or a heterocyclic group selected from the group consisting of a pyridyl group, a furanyl group, and a quinolyl group.
