ABSTRACT:
The photoconductor of an electrophotographic recording material comprising an electrically conductive support, an optional insulating interlayer, and a photoconductive single layer containing a binder, a dye or pigment sensitizer and a pyrimido[5',4':5,6]pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazole charge transporting compound represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are identical or different and are hydrogen or an R.sub.3,R.sub.4 N group; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are identical or different and are (C.sub.1 to C.sub.4)-alkyl, hydroxy-(C.sub.1 to C.sub.4)-alkyl, phenyl or benzyl which are unsubstituted or (C.sub.1 to C.sub.4)-alkyl-substituted, or, together with the N atom to which they are bonded, are an imidazolyl or triazolyl group; and R.sub.5 is a benzothiazole, a benzoxazole or a benzimidazole group, is photosensitive in the visible range around 430 to 500 nm and can be sensitized for the longer-wavelength region with dyes.
