ABSTRACT:
An electrophotographic photosensitive member has an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer formed thereon. The photosensitive layer contains a compound represented by the general formula (1) below: ##STR1## wherein Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 are each independently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, a nitro group, a cyano group, or a trifluoromethyl group; A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 are each a coupler residue having a phenolic hydroxyl group, which may be the same or different; and n is an integer of 1 or 2.
