ABSTRACT:
A carriage motor is driven with a predetermined duty value and it is determined whether a carriage is moved. If it is determined that the carriage is moved, a lower duty value is set. If it is determined that the carriage is not moved, a higher duty value is set, in order to obtain the duty values at the time when the carriage is and is not moved. The duty values when the carriage is moved and is not moved, are stored, as alternative characteristic values, in an EEPROM in association with positional information of duty value detection position. Therefore, quality control may be properly performed by checking the stored duty values.
