ABSTRACT:
An electrolytic process for preparing tetravalent alkyltin chloride or bromide compositions by electrolyzing a C.sub.1-10 alkyl chloride or bromide in contact with a liquid electrolyte containing chloride or bromide ions and a tin cathode in an undivided cell at a current density sufficiently high to effect formation of said compositions.
