ABSTRACT:
An electrode is positioned to form a predetermined gap between the electrode and a surface of a work, and the electrode and the work are submerged in an electrolyte. Thereafter pulses are applied to the electrode and clean electrolyte is supplied to the gap. The pulse application is performed by a pulse having a peak current density between 30 A/cm.sup.2 and 50 A/cm.sup.2 and a pulse duration between 2 msec and 10 msec.
