ABSTRACT:
An electroluminescent device which has an anode (4) and a cathode (10) and arranged between the anode (4) and the cathode (10) a light emissive layer (8). Also included between the light emissive layer and the anode is a dielectric layer, a carbon or amorphous silicon layer, or a layer of conductive oxide such as tin oxide, vanadium oxide, molybdenum oxide and nickel oxide.
