ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to an electrode for discharge lamps, with an electron mitter which contains a barium compound from the group barium zirconate (BaZrO.sub.3), barium hafnate (BaHfO.sub.3), barium titanate (BaTiO.sub.3) and barium cerate (BaCeO.sub.3) as well as one or more metallic components.
