ABSTRACT:
To provide an electrochemical energy generating apparatus which can regulate the operating conditions of an electrochemical device such as a fuel cell, according to a change of the internal properties of the device, achieving high energy density, and a method for driving the apparatus. An electrochemical energy generating apparatus and a method for driving the apparatus which includes: an electrochemical device (2) such as fuel cell, for generating electrochemical energy; a measurement section measuring the operational state of the electrochemical device (2); a regulation section regulating the operating conditions of the electrochemical device2; and a control section (11) connected to the measurement section and the regulation section and controlling the operating conditions, wherein the control section (11) controls the regulation section based on a measurement obtained by the measurement section during the operation of the electrochemical device (2) to regulate the operating conditions through the regulation section.
