ABSTRACT:
The voltage level of an electrochemical cell having a divalent silver oxide (AgO) cathode is reduced to and maintained at the monovalent silver oxide (Ag.sub.2 O) level by an attenuated divalent silver oxide layer between the divalent silver oxide cathode and the cathode current collector.
