ABSTRACT:
An electro-optical device101is provided with an electro-optical panel102in which a liquid crystal material L is held between a pair of opposed electrodes114aand114b, and a dot is formed in each of regions where the pair of opposed electrodes114aand114bis opposed to each other, and with a light source106for irradiating the electro-optical panel102with light. The device further comprises a transflective film112having a light-transmitting region113provided for each of the dots to transmit light from the light source106and a light-reflecting region for reflecting the external light, a colored layer118provided corresponding to the dots, and a colored layer121provided opposite to the colored layer118with the liquid crystal material L held therebetween corresponding to the light-transmitting region113.
