ABSTRACT:
An existing superconducting material is rendered nonsuperconducting without a change in temperature by the generation of phonons which breakup the electron pairing within the superconducting material. The phonons are generated by a piezoelectric film deposited on the superconducting material. A high frequency signal is used to energize the piezoelectric film resulting in piezoelectric acoustic phonon generation within the superconducting material.
