ABSTRACT:
An electrical insulating bushing and a method of fabrication with an electrical device having a cabinet with an outer wall and a bushing-receiving aperture in the wall. The bushing includes an elongated body surrounding a central conductor with an annular mounting flange at a mid portion of the insulator body. An interface collar is received in the aperture of the cabinet and is welded to the cabinet wall. Thereafter, the bushing is inserted in the interface collar and is joined thereto with an adhesive. A gasket ring is positioned between the bushing flange and the interface collar prior to the adhesive joinder thereof, so as to augment the fluid-tight seal therebetween.
