ABSTRACT:
An apparatus and method for securing a stranded cable to an object involves passing a first end portion of the cable through an opening defined by a wall of the member, by moving the first end portion in a direction toward the connector member. A spreader member formed of a material operable to plastically deform, is placed between strands of the cable to spread apart at least some of the strands of the cable and the cable end portion and the spreader member are forced into the opening until the spreader member and at least some of the cable strands are plastically deformed.
