ABSTRACT:
The electrical connector1according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a male connector13having a male housing14with a first latch part1, a female connector2having a female housing with an inserting hole, and a connector position assurance (CPA)9. The first latch part1has first and second latch protrusions P1, P2, and the female connector2has an elastic latch arm8with a latch pawl at a leading edge part of the female connector. The CPA9includes a first finger piece92having a first bent protrusion D1, second finger pieces91, 93each having a second bent protrusion D2, and a spring-force-accumulated part. The first and second finger pieces of the CPA9are attached between the elastic latch arm and one inner wall surface. While the two connectors2, 13are fitted, the male connector slides the CPA backward. When the two connectors have entered into a regular fitted state, the spring-force-accumulated part makes the second latch protrusion P2latch onto the latch pawl to connect the two connectors. Accordingly, an electrical connector including a fitted state detecting member to lock a pair of its connectors automatically during the fitting process of the connectors and ensure the fitting of the connectors can be provided.
