ABSTRACT:
The electric motor is a fitment to a customer's unit and in particular to a customer's electronic throttle control unit. The motor comprises a can-like metal housing10having one or more outwardly extending flanges21, 22and an end cap15closing the open end12of the housing10. The end cap15comprises a plastic inner part16which fits within the open end of the housing10and which supports motor terminals17and brush gear18for the motor. The end cap15also comprises a metal outer part20which has one or more portions29, 30extending over the flange or flanges21, 22of the housing. The flange(s) of the metal housing and the aforesaid portion(s) of the metal outer part of the end cap15have apertures24, 32for receiving fastening members whereby the motor can be connected to the customer's unit.
