ABSTRACT:
A miniature PMDC motor has a wound rotor15comprising a rotor core16and a commutator17mounted on a shaft14. A cooling fan20is directly mounted onto the commutator17by use of a mechanical snap-fit type connection. Projections29on the commutator mate with recesses in the fan20to prevent relative rotational movement and detents including resilient fingers23and projection surfaces34hold the fan axially.
