ABSTRACT:
An elastic strapping band is essentially made of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing vinyl acetate in the range of 3 to 20 wt %. The band has molecular orientation in the lengthwise direction thereof with a double refraction rate (.DELTA.n) being in the range of 24.times.10.sup.-3 to 38.times.10.sup.-3. The band has a tensile strength higher than 3.3 kg/mm.sup.2, a stress residual rate higher than 15% after elongating the band under an initial load of 3.3 kg/mm.sup.2, and an elasticity recovering rate higher than 70%.
