ABSTRACT:
A process for producing an organic thin film, wherein a hydrophobic organic substance is admixed with a ferrocene compound in an aqueous medium to solubilize the hydrophobic organic substance and form a micelle solution. The micelle solution is electrolyzed to form thin film of the hydrophobic organic substance on an anode. The ferrocene compound has the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and are a hydrogen, a methyl group, a methoxyl group, an amino group, a dimethylamino group, a hydroxyl group or halogen, X is ##STR2## M is an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal, a is an integer of 1 to 4, b is an integer of 1 to 5, k is an integer of 1 to 18 and m is an integer of 0 to 4.
