ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to easily meltable, thermally opacifiable, dense white opal glasses which exhibit satisfactory weathering resistance and consist essentially, in weight percent, of 7-12% Na.sub.2 O, 0.8-3.8% CaO, 3-7% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 4-8% B.sub.2 O.sub.3, 69-75% SiO.sub.2, and 3.5-4.5% F.
