ABSTRACT:
New intermediates represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a lower alkyl group, a substituted lower alkyl group, an aryl group, a lower alkoxy group or an amino group and R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, an aryl group, a lower acyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonyl group or a cyano group can be converted to 4'-(2-carboxyethyl)phenyl trans-4-aminomethylcyclohexanecarboxylate by selectively hydrolyzing the intermediate.
