ABSTRACT:
A rotor for a dynamoelectric machine is disclosed comprising a flywheel having a plurality of permanent magnets, distributed around the core and in the plane of the flywheel, which are aligned such that the N-poles are directed toward the outer perimeter of the flywheel. An even number of the magnets is provided, and the magnets are aligned so that the longitudinal axis of each magnet is at a 45.degree. angle to the diameter of the flywheel which includes the exact center of the magnet.
